They are three games ahead of their closest competition in the Western tank rankings. They’re being outscored by 10.4 points per game, a figure that puts them ahead of only the Sixers for the league’s worst point differential. <p> </p> <p>Injuries and a focus on the future prevented this team from even attempting the playoff push that more optimistic fans were expecting, but Flip Saunders is making the right decision. It’s not resulting in wins, but the experience is huge for guys like Andrew Wiggins, Shabazz Muhammad, Gorgui Dieng and Zach LaVine. Don’t sleep on the Timberwolves in this year’s draft lottery.
