Florida State Seminoles players returned from the Rose Bowl to find their cars keyed and their tires slashed.

The No. 3 Florida State Seminoles carried a 29-game win streak into the Rose Bowl when they squared off against the No. 2 Oregon Ducks on Thursday. The game served as a semi-final match up for the first ever College Football Playoff.

The Seminoles came into the game as the defending national champions and felt disrespected being the third seed, despite another undefeated regular season. The one-loss Oregon Ducks, who were seeded and ranked higher than the Seminoles, made the seedings look more than fair after blowing out defeating the Seminoles in the Rose Bowl, 59-20.

It was an embarrassing loss for the Seminoles, but an impressive victory for the Ducks.

Florida State fans and their faithful seemed to take the loss particularly hard. According to freshman linebacker Anthony Valdes, when the Seminoles returned home they found their cars had been vandalized.

Winning a national championship in college football is incredibly difficult, and repeating is even harder. Seminoles fans expecting to do so might have been slightly unrealistic and unfair to the team, which lost some talented players to the NFL draft.

Still, to take out your frustrations from a loss against a quality team on the cars of the players is just ridiculous and unacceptable. Valdes of course is assuming that these were disgruntled fans, but doesn’t really offer any concrete evidence that it was, which doesn’t mean he is wrong.

But as we’ve all seen on Twitter, the Florida State fans aren’t always the most reasonable and logical fans.
