The Detroit Lions haven’t won a playoff game since 1992 and they started off the second half of their NFC Wild Card game against the Cowboys in terrible fashion.

Matthew Stafford is playing in the biggest game of his career, as the former No. 1 overall pick in the draft is trying to win the Lions their first playoff game since 1992. While the first half of the game was huge for Stafford, he sank the hearts of Lions fans in the third quarter when he started off the half with an interception.

Stafford’s pass attempt to start the half was deflected and intercepted, which set the Cowboys up in scoring position to start the second half.

As it turned out, the Cowboys didn’t really benefit from the drive other than stopping an offensive possession for the Lions. Despite starting their drive deep in Lions territory, the Cowboys failed to get any points off the turnover after Dan Bailey missed a 41-yard field goal attempt.

That came after the Lions sacked Tony Romo on third-down and backed up the field goal to a range that Bailey couldn’t handle. It wasn’t a short kick, but the accuracy wasn’t there and he pushed it just to the right.
