Tony Romo Changes His Image

Although the majority of the Cowboys’ success this year hinges on their offensive line and their rushing attack, against the best rushing defense in the league in the Detroit Lions, the Cowboys played their worst game of the year. The offensive line gave up six sacks and Tony Romo was uncomfortable in the pocket throughout the game.

However, even with all of the pressure and being down on the scoreboard for most of the day, Romo did what Romo has done for years now and that is win close football games. People always say that Romo is a choker, but this game proved just how explosive he can be when asked. Romo completed 19 passes out of 31 attempts for 293 yards and two passing touchdowns. Although Romo did not have time, he scrambled around the pocket multiple times and he found his receivers in Terrance Williams and Jason Witten.

By winning this football game, Romo has changed his image just a bit. Quarterbacks will always be judged on their Super Bowl wins, but that is a team statistic. In this game, Dallas jumped on Romo’s right arm and he delivered big-time. Romo now has a playoff record of 2-3 and he will look to improve it next week against the Green Bay Packers.
