If you were in attendance at the 2014 New York Comic Con then there’s a chance you ran into what seemed like a real-life version of Family Guy patriarch Peter Griffin.

Anyone who has ever been to a convention in their lives; whether it is a gaming convention, an anime convention, or a comic convention the size of the San Diego and New York Comic Cons, then you have at one point or another ran across a person in cosplay.

For those of you who are unaware of this phenomenon, let us enlighten you.

Have you ever been to a comic convention and seen someone dressed up as The Joker or Harley Quinn? Maybe someone dressed up as Ichigo Kurosaki from the anime Bleach? Those people are in cosplay.

If you are one of the people who was lucky enough to be in attendance at the 2014 New York Comic Con, you may have had to do a double take at least once. You may have thought for a second that you just saw the real-life Peter Griffin.

A gentleman by the name of Robert Franzese has been impersonating character’s voices for years, but he nails this one out of the park; both visually and vocally. We’re not going to lie to you, if we heard his voice off in the distance, we would be forced to stop what we’re doing and look for Peter Griffin.

It’s kind of funny how something that started off as nothing more than a silly joke has transformed into something so much more. Franzese describes how he was standing at an ATM machine one day and when the money came out he proclaimed “Oh my God! I won!” and the rest is history.

Now, when he makes his way through Comic Con, he is stopped by thousands of people who want their picture with him or want him to recite their favorite lines from Family Guy. Even if it is only for a couple of days a year, Franzese talks about how it all makes him feel.

“You know what I love the most about New York Comic Con is the freaking friends that I see every year.” He said. “I go to work and I’m like a nobody. I have a nobody job making nobody pay, and then I go to New York Comic Con and people are pulling out phones like I’m Brad Pitt or some shit. It makes me feel like a million bucks.”

We don’t know about you, but we think that Seth MacFarlane had better watch out, there is a new Peter Griffin in town. Who knows, maybe one day we’ll see Franzese as he voice of Peter’s evil twin or something. We’re looking at you MacFarlane…make it happen!
