Randall Cobb, WR
Age: 25
2014 Salary: $812,648

After missing ten games due to injury in 2013, the Green Bay Packers were cool on giving Randall Cobb a contract extension. Cobb decided to end talks and bet on himself to have a career year in 2014. That is exactly what he did.

Cobb caught 91 passes for 1,287 yards and 12 touchdowns. All those numbers are career highs. In fact, he had 13 touchdowns combined in the three seasons before 2014.

With all the attention Jordy Nelson and Aaron Rodgers get for being a great combination, it is the combination of Rodgers and Cobb that is better. Rodgers has a 134.3 passer rating when throwing to Cobb, higher than any quarterback has with his wide receiver.

Nelson received an extension last offseason that pays him nearly $10 million per year. He was 29 when he signed that deal. Cobb is just 25 and should command more money.

The problem with that is that while a team will pay (and perhaps overpay) for his services, will that team have the quarterback with the ability of Rodgers?

Eric Decker took the money and went to the New York Jets last offseason, and look at the misery that was the Jets offense this season. The Packers will not overpay for their players (unless it’s Rodgers), so will Cobb take less money to stay in the successful Packers offense? Stay tuned to find out.
