Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Garnett let the emotions get the best of him as he headbutted Dwight Howard after a dead ball.

Emotions get the best of athletes all the time. Usually, veterans are able to keep themselves even-keeled and composed so they avoid confrontation with their opponents. However, this time Kevin Garnett couldn’t keep his hands, and head, to himself as he clearly headbutted Houston Rockets‘ Dwight Howard.

What started as a somewhat innocent shove back and forth escalated quickly to Garnett going crazy.

Howard isn’t totally innocent himself, but he only lighting shoved Garnett. On the other hand, the Nets star shoved, threw a basketball at Howard, and then went in for the decisive headbutt. Maybe he should be doing MMA or sign up for UFC if he likes to attack his opponents.

However, there no room for violent actions like headbutts in basketball. Garnett was ejected from the game and could face further suspension from NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. It’s one thing to throw a basketball and be ejected, but Garnett decided to take it to the next level and make sure the ref noticed his infraction.

Both Howard and Garnett are well-known players in the league. They’ve each been around for quite sometime and should know how to act like a professional athlete, but no one is perfect and we all make mistakes. In any case, Garnett showed the fans how to properly headbutt someone if you are ever in danger.
