Point Guard

High Salary: While many of the expensive point guards have had their ups and downs in recent games, Ty Lawson has been remarkably consistent in his production for the Nuggets and makes a solid investment at 9,000 as the Nuggets take on the Warriors this afternoon.  Lawson has at least 35 FanDuel points in four straight games and 30 or more in each of his last ten games.  He represents lower risk than other options since his team rarely blows other teams out (leading to fewer minutes) and since he contributes solid assist numbers with seven assists or more in nine of his last ten games.  If you spend big at PG today, Lawson is the player I’d go with.

High Salary: In the Pistons recent surge, Brandon Jennings has led the way with some big performances although he came back to earth on Saturday playing limited minutes against the 76ers.  Before that letdown, Jennings had posted 40 FanDuel points or more in three of four.  Today, Jennings and the Pistons travel to Atlanta to face the Hawks in what should be a great game.  He posted 31.8 FanDuel points on 14 points and eight assists the late time these two teams met, and I think he can improve on that today.  He continues to be one of the main the focuses of the Pistons offense and his high usage rate makes him a fairly low-risk option for today.

Bonus Blend Salary/Value Option: The Bucks are back from London after just playing one game last week.  Don’t forget Brandon Knight, though, who makes a good play today against the Raptors who have allowed more FanDuel points to opposing PG than any other team in the league over their last ten games. Knight has started the month strong with four 30+ FanDuel point games in the seven he has played. In each of his last two games he has produced over 30 FanDuel points and is coming off 44 FanDuel points he posted against the Knicks.  Tonight, he’s set up for success against Toronto in what I think will be a competitive game in Milwaukee.

Bonus Blend Salary/Value Option: Another option I really like at the same price-point as Knight is Bulls PG Derrick Rose. Rose is still cheap due to his injuries and early-season struggles, but he’s turning it on as of late and comes in on a roll of four straight 30+ FanDuel point games. He’s been over 40 FanDuel points in each of his last two game in which he has posted double-doubles with 20+ points and 10 assists. Tonight against the Cavs struggling defense, look for Rose to continue his success.

High Value: Although he’s not super-cheap Mo Williams is still a value as he turns things up for the Timberwolves while he continues to play in place of the injured Ricky Rubio. Mo-Will has been playing big minutes and has turned in at least 20 FanDuel points in each of his last eight games.  He went off for 52 points and seven assists last week against Indiana for a total of 64.3 FanDuel points and followed that with a solid effort against Phoenix where he posted 36.9 FanDuel points.  Today, he and Minnesota face the Hornets who will be without Kemba Walker which should allow Williams to find plenty of space to operate and put up points and assists in a nice matchup to start the week.

High Value: If you have to go ultra-cheap, Beno Udrih is worth a look if Mike Conley is again sidelined. Udrih is only 3,900 but has been able to post 24.7 and 28.9 FanDuel points in his two starts while Conley has been out.  If Udrih gets the start again, he can give you solid numbers while allowing you to spend your money on big budget purchases elsewhere.
