2. Re-Signing Randall Cobb

Perhaps the most important need this offseason for the Green Bay Packers is to get star wide receiver Randall Cobb locked up long-term. The Packers were able to sign Jordy Nelson to a long-term extension, but their offense would take a major hit if Cobb left.

During the 2014 regular season, Cobb compiled 91 receptions for 1,287 yards and 12 touchdowns. He was a perfect star to play alongside of Nelson, and the Packers cannot afford to let him walk away. Unfortunately, he is going to be expensive to re-sign and there are going to be plenty of other teams that are interested in him.

Green Bay is definitely the team that Cobb would prefer to sign with, but he isn’t going to turn down a clearly better offer to return. Greg Jennings is another key wide receiver that left the Packers in free agency recently after being a key part of the offense the season before.

That being said, Cobb is a guy that the Packers know they need to have a chance at making the NFC Championship game next season. They are going to do their best to bring him back, and it needs to be their number one priority.
