Reason: Can the Warriors sustain their jump shooting?

The Golden State Warriors by far are the best team in the Western Conference. With a 33-6 record it’s very difficult to say that they are doing anything wrong.

The Warriors have one of the best players in the league in their point guard, Stephen Curry. Putting a superstar like Curry in the same backcourt with another budding star in shooting guard, Klay Thompson, should be illegal because them playing together isn’t fair for any opponent.

The Warriors this season have done everything to change their perception of being too soft, not playing defense, and not getting in the paint enough. On the Warriors are first in points per game, fourth in offensive rating, and also first in defensive rating.

For as good as their team is today there still is a lot of skepticism. People don’t want to believe because the Warriors bread and butter is still their jump shooting. Between Curry and Thompson they each nearly shoot seven three-pointers a game, which normally isn’t a recipe for success.

When the playoffs start at the end of the season and their best players are attempting to fight fatigue, we’ll have to see if the Warriors can still be successful. The game is going to slow down and if the Warriors are matched up with a team like the Memphis Grizzlies, San Antonio Spurs or Portland Trail Blazers it’s going to create a problem for their team with the lack of interior scoring.

All of those teams can kill the Warriors in the paint.
