Reasons to doubt every NBA championship contender
Chicago Bulls
Reason: Do the Bulls have enough people who can create their own shot?
The Chicago Bulls have a lot to give thanks for. Their roster on paper is by far is one of the most deepest teams, and their ability to play at least eight different players is scary good. The Bulls on paper also might have the best starting lineup in the league. Quietly, people don’t realize it but the Bulls could potentially have four players within their starting lineup that have made the NBA All-Star game. Better yet by the end of the season the Bulls could have four players who’ve made the All-NBA team.
In what was a difficult last three seasons for Bulls fans because of injuries plaguing their roster now is looking like a very tumultuous turnaround. This team lacks no chemistry, they have an identity, and they look extremely strong.
People want to look at the defensive efficiency that the Bulls don’t have and for good reason, they need to get a lot better on defense. However, don’t expect their defense to stay bad the rest of the season, they will get it together.
The true question remains is, outside of Derrick Rose, what player on the Bulls can take the basketball and create his own shot?
The Bulls will have to address this because on the nights that Rose isn’t playing well, they need another person to start-up the offense and get everyone shots. Backup point guard Aaron Brooks does a really good job at this, but can we expect that responsibility to fall on his shoulders?
