RB LeGarrette Blount, New England

Blount has established himself as one of the best between-the-tackles runners in postseason games, and he was personally responsible for making the Colts turtle in the second half of the AFC title game.

But it’s not just Blount doing the damage in the Patriots’ ground attack. If Belichick wants, he can give the ball to Jonas Gray or Shane Vereen. It’s likely that he stays with Blount in this game, because he has been so effective running the ball inside.

The Seahawks were the third-toughest team to run the ball against this season, but their front four of Michael Bennett, Tony McDaniel, Kevin Williams and Cliff Avril is not the biggest in the league and the Patriots’ offensive line has a size advantage.

If they can gain the edge — the way that the Dallas Cowboys did in Week Six and the Packers did for much of the NFC Championship game — the Pats have a chance to gain a significant edge as they win the time of possession battle and deflate the Seahawks.
