DIRK IS BACK!!!

After struggling for about a month over the course of December and into the first part of January, Dirk Nowitzki was in a bit of a shooting slump, which led SB Nation’s Mavs Moneyball to publish a column about Dirk’s shooting slump.

After that column ran seven days ago, Dirk’s shooting came back all of a sudden (and after a game of much-needed rest).

Over the last four games, Dirk is making 49 percent of his field goal attempts and 56 percent of his 3-point attempts! HE’S BACK, Y’ALL!

Over that same stretch of games, Nowitzki is also averaging 19.3 points and 7.0 rebounds. Sometimes all a player needs is a day off to reflect and recharge the batteries. It appears like that’s a little of what Dirk needed.

Who knows if Dirk can sustain this level of play throughout the entire season?

Based on the last week of basketball, Dirk is easily the best player on the Mavericks and is still one of the toughest covers in the league when he’s making shots.

There’s just nothing anyone can do if a seven-footer is making almost 60 percent of his 3-point attempts. Just kick back and enjoy the show, everybody!
