Midseason NBA Player Rankings: Steph Curry vs. James Harden
By Bryce Olin
18. Zach Randolph
Zach Randolph is the NBA’s version of Marshawn “Beast Mode” Lynch.
Randolph is one of the most physical interior players in the league. And, on top of that, he’s also playing the best basketball of the season at the half-way point, which is great for the Grizzlies as they try to open up a slight lead in the best division in basketball this season.
Randolph did miss nine games in the last month, but dating back to Dec. 6, Randolph hasn’t had a game in which he didn’t finish in double-digit rebounds. Whoa…
Randolph is a double-double machine right now.
Since Jan. 11, Randolph also hasn’t scored less than 18 points in a game. That’s crazy when you think about it.
If this is the Randolph we can expect for the rest of the season and the playoffs, watch out, rest of the NBA.
The Grizzlies have a really good shot at making the NBA finals because they now have four players who can score, and that should cause problems for defenses. Say what you will about Jeff Green, but Randolph will be there to keep the rest of the team in order.
I can’t wait to see Memphis later in the spring. Whoever wins the West is going to have go through Memphis; that’s for sure.
