Lance Stephenson made a name for himself by being aggressive, energized, and also for playing with a bit of an edge last year with the Indiana Pacers. Those qualities have not been seen much if at all this year with the Charlotte Hornets.

The Hornets originally signed him because they loved his aggressiveness and attitude, and thought that he could bring some energy and toughness to the court. He hasn’t done anything close to that, and has instead looked very uninterested with what is going on when he’s on the floor.

If he wants to turn this season around, he needs to get back to playing with the edge that made him so competitive in Indiana. He needs to figure out how to play with energy throughout the entire game, and help spread that energy to his teammates. Finally, he needs to figure out how to be a leader on the court.

Those things are going to be key to him turning this season around. If he doesn’t do them, then he will continue playing the disappointing brand of basketball that he has played so far this year.
