Small Forward Picks

High Salary: He’s been playing well lately, but tonight will be Carmelo Anthony‘s first attempt to play back-to-back nights, so make sure you double-check his availability.  Melo has looked good since returning to the team four games ago.  He has scored at least 24 points in each of those games while adding enough peripheral stats to get over 40 FanDuel points in each of his last three.  He did play 42 minutes last night against Orlando and 40 against the Sixers on Wednesday and appears to be healthy.  As long as he gets his minutes tonight, I expect him to again be productive against Charlotte.

High Salary: On Thursday, Gordon Hayward carried the Jazz past the Bucks with 24 points, six rebounds, and six assists on his way to 38.2 FanDuel points.  He’s in our FanDuel daily picks tonight as he leads Utah against the Nets.  Hayward has been on a solid run lately putting up at least 20 FanDuel points in his last nine straight games with 34 or more five times during that span.  With Trey Burke no longer in the starting lineup, Hayward should get more chances to take his shots which bodes well for him going forward.

High Value: While I’m trying to avoid the Grizzlies-Sixers game as much as possible, Robert Covington has been playing well enough to merit an exception to that rule.  Covington has turned in two straight games with 29 FanDuel points including scoring 18 points to go with six rebounds, two blocks, and two steals against Toronto in 35 minutes last night.  He has scored at least nine poitns in each of his last five games and finished with at least 15 FanDuel points which isn’t necessarily a lot, but there are a decided lack of great options at this position tonight.

High Value: The Jazz have been going all-Aussie in their backcourt using Joe Ingles as their starting shooting guard alongside Dante Exum as discussed earlier.  Ingles is under 4,000 in salary but has played pretty heavy minutes lately.  His fantasy value doesn’t come as much from his scoring as from his other stats which have helped him get at least 14 FanDuel points in four of his last five including a solid 22.3 FanDuel game against the Bucks.  Ingles doesn’t have a high ceiling, but he can still be a solid value given his playing time.
