5. Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers are in desperate need of acquiring another growing star that can take over once Kobe Bryant decides to call it quits. Reggie Jackson certainly has star potential, and he would be an excellent acquisition for the Lakers. Even if he didn’t end up being the go-to guy in the future, he is still a very good player that would help make Los Angeles a more attractive place for other players.

Jackson would be tough to acquire for the Lakers, but if they threw in a first round pick or two, they could make an offer that might force Oklahoma City to consider it. The Lakers could offer Jeremy Lin and Ed Davis to the Thunder in exchange for Reggie Jackson and also to take Kendrick Perkins away for them.

Lin would add the bench scoring and solid backup point guard play that Jackson has been offering the Thunder so far this season. Davis on the other hand is a very solid backup big man option, and shedding Perkins would be ideal for Oklahoma City.

Los Angeles would do that deal in a heartbeat, but the Thunder would have to think long and hard about it. Either way, the Lakers need to do what they can to put their names on the market for Jackson as the deadline continues to draw closer.
