New England Patriots: Top Super Bowl storylines
Rob Gronkowski Needs To Play Well For New England To Win
Rob Gronkowski is one of the most dominant tight ends in the NFL today. He is a fearsome blocker in the run game, and an unstoppable matchup in the passing game. He can beat up and out run typical corner backs with his sheer physical dominance, and he can blow past linebackers with ease. He’s not easy to cover.
Seattle does not have typical corner backs though.
The corners, Richard Sherman and Byron Maxwell, are 6′ 3″ and 6′ 1″, respectively. The safeties are built more like linebackers. There’s a reason they’re called the Legion of Boom.
Will those oversized secondary players be able to bottle up Gronkowski, or will he be able to do to them what he does to most other defenses – shred them on the way to an end zone dance?
This is one of the most important matchups in the game.
