47.) Super Bowl XLVIII – Seattle Seahawks vs. Denver Broncos
The aforementioned spanking: Seattle beating Denver 43-8.
I’m willing to bet that most people would have thought Denver would have been the team to score over 40 points, but things don’t always go as expected.
The very first snap of the game was a miscue from the Broncos that led to a safety for the Seahawks, and that play pretty much summed up the entire game.
Seattle was up 36-0 right before Denver finally scored right before the fourth quarter ended, and it was simply a dominating performance from the underdog Seahawks.
Although Russell Wilson had a strong performance by completing 18/25 passes for 206 yards and two touchdowns, it was linebacker Malcolm Smith who won MVP honors for scoring on a pick-six, recovering a fumble and racking up nine tackles.
