Super Bowl 2015: Ranking all 48 Super Bowls
By Andrew Ross
45.) Super Bowl XX – Chicago Bears vs. New England Patriots
The Bears and Patriots were both making their Super Bowl debuts, and it was Chicago who made the most of the opportunity.
Chicago was headlined by their defense, but their offense was more than capable of doing their job as well.
After a 23-3 lead heading into halftime, the Bears won the third quarter 21-0 and ultimately won the game 46-10.
Jim McMahon led Chicago’s offense with 256 yards through the air on 12/20 passing, and he also had two touchdowns on the ground.
But like I said, it was about Chicago’s defense who held New England to only 123 total yards (-19 yards in the first half), had seven sacks and forced six turnovers.
Similarly to the last two Super Bowls mentioned, a defensive player took home the MVP trophy: Richard Dent who had 1.5 sacks, blocked one pass and forced two fumbles.
