Super Bowl 2015: Ranking all 48 Super Bowls
By Andrew Ross
43.) Super Bowl VIII – Miami Dolphins vs. Minnesota Vikings
This was Miami’s third straight Super Bowl appearance, and the 24-7 victory over the Minnesota made them the second team to ever win back-to-back (first AFC team to do so).
The Dolphins scored on their first two possessions, had a 24-0 lead into halftime and were simply never in danger of losing the game.
The Vikings nearly matched the Dolphins in most areas of the game, but they lost the turnover battle 2-0 which was ultimately their demise.
Amazingly enough, Miami’s quarterback Bob Griese only had seven pass attempts, and that’s because the Dolphins were carried by Larry Csonka’s 33 carries on 145 yards and two touchdowns.
Csonka’s carries and yards were both Super Bowl records, and his performance was good enough to take home the game’s MVP award.
