No. 19 Bob Tucker, New York Giants

The leading pass catching tight end of the 70s came to the NFL from humble beginnings – undrafted and playing semi-pro ball until he caught on with the Giants in 1970. Bob Tucker led the NFC in receptions in his second year with the Giants, and went on to become one of the most productive players at his position.

Tucker also benefited from longevity and health, missing only 4 games in his entire 11 year career. He ended his career with 5,421 yards receiving and 27 touchdowns. Tucker epitomized what coaches wanted in the position in the 70s: reliable, tough, and consistent.
