Revis Island

Considering how good the New England defense was this year, at least to the eye, it is surprising to see them outside the top-10 in DVOA, especially against the pass. But make no mistake, the Seahawks are not going to want to attack Darrelle Revis, especially with their rather pedestrian-looking receiving corps.

The 6’0″ four-time All-Pro from Alquippa, PA and Pittsburgh has built a career by shutting down the game’s best receivers. In 2014, he tied for ninth in the NFL with 16 passes defensed despite rarely seeing a pass thrown in his direction. He even hauled in two interceptions and forced a fumble.

Bill Belichick is smart and flexible enough to use his most talented players in a way that accentuates their abilities. Hence the reason the guy who struggled in Tampa has returned to Revis Island, a place no receiver desires to land.
