Tim Brown is already in the College Football Hall of Fame after he was the first wide receiver to win the Heisman Trophy, but the former Notre Dame receiver has been shutout of the Pro Football Hall of Fame since he was eligible in 2010. He was a finalist the last four years and his time could be coming now that Cris Carter and Andre Reed were inducted in each of the last two years.

Brown played 16 years with the Raiders organization and one year with the Buccaneers but “Mr. Raider” was synonymous with the organization since he was the No. 6 pick in the 1988 draft. Brown made nine Pro Bowl teams from 1988-2001 and was a member of the 1990s All-Decade Team after he had at least 1,000 receiving yards from 1993-2001.

He retired in 2005 after signing a one-day contract with the Raiders and his 14,934 receiving yards were the second-highest total in NFL history, his 1,094 receptions were third and his 100 touchdowns tied for third. Brown was also one of the best return me of all-time and is the only player retire in the NFL’s top five leaders for receiving and return yards.

Brown currently ranks fifth in receptions, sixth in yards and seventh in touchdowns and his body of work should merit induction.
. WR. LA/OAK, TB. Tim Brown. 7. player. 28
