  1. Super Bowl XLVII: Baltimore Ravens 34, San Francisco 49ers 31

Another dud, which took a turn in the third quarter, an odd turn at that. After Jacoby Jones returned the opening kickoff of the second half for a Ravens touchdown, the lights went out in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, literally.

They finally came back on 34 minutes later, at which time San Francisco blitzed the Ravens figuratively and literally to get themselves back in the football game. As the game entered the final quarter, the Ravens were holding on by a tenuous three-point margin.

Baltimore managed two field goals in the final stanza, the final one with 4:19 to play, giving the Ravens a six-point lead. 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick drove the 49ers down to the red zone, but ultimately could not score as they went to a fade pass on fourth down which failed, and the Ravens held on by skin of their skinny skin skin.

Ravens players weren’t the only ones excited about the victory. Michael Phelps was too.
