NBA Player Rankings: James Harden takes the lead

19. Carmelo Anthony
24.1 PPG, 3.1 APG, 6.6 RPG, 21.7 PER
It’s amazing how good the New York Knicks can be with a little tender, loving Carmelo Anthony to win them a few games when they are gunning for the top draft pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.
Since Anthony’s return from injury, the Knicks have won four out of their last six games, and Anthony has been pretty good. In his last four games, Anthony is averaging 25.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
Anthony’s best performance came in the Knicks win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. In the game, Anthony scored 31 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while holding off a furious Russell Westbrook-charged comeback in the fourth quarter.
Anthony will likely shut it down for the season and get knee surgery after the All-Star Game, but it’s nice to see the Knicks have a decent future with Anthony and some younger players like Langston Galloway, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Lance Thomas.
That will be a major selling point when Anthony goes on the recruiting trail for Marc Gasol and Kevin Durant this summer.
