If The Seahawks Win, Will Russell Wilson Vault Into The Elite Quarterback Discussion?

Positive Legacy Prospects:

Russell Wilson has led a charmed life since college. He’s already won a Super Bowl in his second year in the league, and is on the precipice of a second. Imagine – back to back Super Bowl rings in year three.

That’s unprecedented greatness.

The sky is the limit for Russell Wilson, and barring injury he’s got plenty of career left in front of him. But an achievement like this has never happened, and is unlikely to happen again. A win immediately vaults Wilson into the upper echelons of quarterbacks in the league right now, and puts him in the discussion for his place in the history of the position.

Negative Legacy Prospects:

Should Russell Wilson falter, the questions will start. Can a running quarterback have sustained success? Can a short quarterback hold up in today’s NFL? Is Seattle’s offense too weak to match its dominant defense? Worst of all: Is Russell Wilson just a game manager?
