For months, there has been speculation on who will play the male lead in the movie, and based on THR‘s report, it appears Aaron Paul and Edgar Ramirez are on the short list of actors Disney and Lucasfilm are considering for the role.

The spinoff movie is expected to follow the story of a young Han Solo, although no one close to the film has confirmed or denied that rumor. According to other rumors, the film could also be about a special team of bounty hunters, like Boba Fett.

So, who knows?

Crazy concept: Movies can also be about multiple things. So, there’s also the possibility that the Star Wars movie could be about a team of bounty hunters and Han Solo.

I probably just blew your mind.

According to Collider, the Breaking Bad star has “expressed interest” in the role, but Paul tried to put the rumors to bed on Twitter at the beginning of January.

Based on the amount of coverage given to Paul becoming the next Han Solo, it seems like the fans and the media want him to get the role, at least compared to Ramirez, who is generating far fewer headlines.

When the rumors started, it was all about Aaron Paul, but since then, Ramirez’s name has started appearing next to Paul’s name more and more recently, so read into that what you will.

While waiting is said to be the hardest part, I highly doubt we’ll have to wait much longer if the studio is already moving forward with a lead actress.

As for the actual details about this movie, we might not know anything until they start shooting and cast and crew members start talking. As Matt Goldberg of Collider mentioned, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released at the end of the year and, still, no one is willing to talk about what the film is actually about.

Hold tight, people; we’ll find out soon enough!
