4. The game will be decided in the final minute

A matchup between the two best teams coming down to the final minute doesn’t seem like a bold prediction, but it actually is.

This season, Atlanta has played 16 games decided by six points or fewer, but Golden State has only played in eight games decided by six or fewer points. Combined, the Hawks and Warriors have only played 24 out of 97 games have been decided by less than six points. That’s pretty remarkable when you think about it. Not only are these two teams winning but they’re also kicking some serious butt while they’re doing it.

Even so, this game is going to be close.

Why will it be close?

These two teams with too much pride right now to make it anything but a close game. This is the biggest statement game of the season for both teams, who want to head into the All-Star Break with the league’s best record.

I realize there’s still more than 30 games remaining for each team, but it’s been decades since the Atlanta Hawks and Golden State Warriors have even been close to the position they’re in right now. Neither team is going to back down with the best record in the NBA on the line.
