Many Fans Believe 2014 Was The Worst Season Ever For Bad Calls

In 2014, we saw some of the most baffling calls by the officials that we’ll ever see. Everyone remembers the big calls in the playoffs. Dez Bryant’s catch in Green Bay, and the pass interference call for Detroit in Dallas that was picked up, were the worst examples of bad calls that decided a game and left the fans baffled.

The bad calls in the playoffs only continued a trend from the regular season. There’s a whole corner of the internet dedicated solely to horrible roughing the passer calls throughout the season. If you follow Mike Pereira on Twitter – the former NFL VP of Officiating and current Fox analyst – you’ve seen several bewildered comments about calls during games.

Pereira does a good job in real time on Fox explaining why some controversial calls go the way they do, but there are times when even he has been left scratching his head. If the former boss isn’t sure why calls are being made, chances are something’s amiss.
