Terrance Knighton, Defensive Tackle

Letroy Guion was one of the Green Bay Packers’ bright spots throughout the 2014 season, but his future with the team is likely over after he was arrested for possession of marijuana just a couple of days ago.

Ndamukong Suh is obviously the biggest name that comes to mind when thinking about big additions at the defensive tackle position, but Terrance Knighton is an even better option at a cheaper price. Knighton finished the 2014 season with 30 tackles and 2.0 sacks. Those numbers don’t look all that impressive, but having a 6’3″ and 331 pound tackle is hard to beat.

Knighton is 28 years old, which makes him an ideal candidate for a multi-year contract this offseason. He isn’t going to come cheap, but he won’t break the bank either.

Green Bay has a  few different options that they could pursue, but Knighton is a proven winner that was a big part of the Denver Broncos’ team that made the Super Bowl last year. It wouldn’t be surprising at all to hear that Ted Thompson has interest in signing Knighton this offseason at the right price.
