NFL QB Rankings: Top 10 signal-callers of 2014
By Will Osgood
10. Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons
Despite taking the second most sacks of his career, Matt Ryan had probably the second best season of his wildly successful professional career. He completed 66.1 percent of his passes for just shy of 4,700 yards with 28 touchdown passes.
Equally important, he threw an interception on just 2.2 percent of all attempted passes, the third best rate of his career. His yards per attempt, adjusted yards per attempt, net yards per attempt and adjusted net yards per attempt were all the third best of his career as well.
It helps having a top-three receiver in the league, which is what Julio Jones proved to be in 2014, alongside other beastly playmakers such as Roddy White and Harry Douglas. Make no mistake, though, Ryan is ultimately the captain of that ship. Jones would not have put up the numbers he did with a less proficient quarterback.
Next: No. 9 is the losing QB in this year's Super Bowl
