Round 2: DE Owamagbe Odighizuwa

Solidifying the defensive line is a huge priority for the Raiders, and although they have a ton of young talent on the defensive side of the ball, the Raiders need more pass rushing help. With Jack Del Rio taking over as head coach and one of the league’s up-and-coming defensive coordinators in Ken Norton Jr, it shouldn’t come as a surprise if the Raiders finish as a top-ten defense next season. To become that top-ten defense, they will need to add another pass rusher early in this draft and a guy that makes a ton of sense at the beginning of Day 2 is Owamagbe Odighizuwa.

His name is the hardest to pronounce in this year’s draft and I struggle to even spell out every time, but the reality is that Odighizuwa, nicknamed “Diggy”, is a player that has the makings of a productive every-down defensive end. The Raiders will likely deploy a 4-3 defensive front in 2015. Del Rio coached a 4-3 team and the Raiders have drafted as a 4-3 defensive team over the years. At 6-foot-4, 270 pounds, Diggy has good size to play the right defensive end position. He has long arms and he does an excellent job against the run. With Odighizuwa, the Raiders will be getting a prospect with a ton of potential.
