Nathan Fillion: ‘I am not Spider-man, that would be terrible casting’

Some of us don’t think it’s terrible casting for Nathan Fillion to be Spider Man.

Earlier today, we ran an article that speculated on whether or not Nathan Fillion wanted to put on some red and blue spandex and shoot webs all over New York City. He posted some interesting pictures over the last few days that raised some eyebrows.

The evidence included a Spider-Man mug posted a few days before the Sony and Marvel deal was made and a spinning globe next to a Captain America mug posted just this morning–hours after the news about the deal broke.

Apparently he wouldn’t want to do such a thing. He even thinks it would be a terrible casting decision.

The actor tweeted about our article and said he isn’t hinting towards anything.

Oh well! I guess Fillion will stick to portraying the author/crime solver in ABC’s Castle for the moment.

The rumor’s aren’t over, as many still feel that Donald Glover, also known by his rapping pseudonym Childish Gambino, could be the man for the job. An article posted by Time earlier today, talks about why the actor/rapper/comedian would be perfect for the role. They state, “Glover’s public persona of the sorta-nerdy-sorta-shy-often-misunderstood-and-under-appreciated-but-totally-brilliant guy is just about as Parker-esque as it gets in the acting world.” Glover even voiced Spider-Man for two episodes of the cartoon show, Ultimate Spider-Man

See the video below for Glover’s reaction to the idea back before the first Amazing Spider-Man movie came out:
