Round 4: OG Josue Matias

For Mariota to reach his full potential, he will need to have the best offensive line possible and although Nick Mangold and D’Brickashaw Ferguson are two excellent pieces for the offensive line, Oday Aboushi, a rookie out of Virginia in 2014, wasn’t anything to write home about and right guard Willie Colon wasn’t anything special either. That being said, the Jets should look into adding an offensive guard and considering it isn’t the biggest need, the Jets would be wise to select a mid-round pick on a guard.

In the middle rounds, Josue Matias would be an excellent value. Matias has played the past few years for one of the best offensive lines in college football and although Cameron Erving is the Florida State offensive linemen getting all the attention, Matias holds it down in the running game. He’s athletic, has quick feet, and he is a smart guy that shows the ability to get to the second level of the defense. These traits make Matias a commodity in the middle rounds.
