Round 5: RB Josh Robinson

Over the 2014 offseason, the Jets brought in Chris Johnson to complement Chris Ivory in the backfield and the reality is that Johnson was subpar in 2014. However, Ivory shows a ton of potential to be a bruising back for the Jets. With a guy like Ivory in place, the Jets should draft a speedy back and Josh Robinson embodies what the Jets need to add in their running back committee. Sure he’s only 5-foot-9 and 215 pounds, but Johnson is perhaps the toughest runner to bring down in this draft.

When the play collapses and defenders are expected to bring him down, Robinson is able to find a way to break free from the opposition. Robinson does a great job at getting lower than defenders and his combination of strength and speed is extremely impressive. Robinson is not a guy who will run for over 1,000 yards, but he can make an impact for an offense and the Jets would be happy to get a player of his caliber in the fifth round.

This play shows what I’m talking about with his toughness as a runner.
