A new LeBron James mix-tape is out and it does the trick – getting everybody ready for the NBA stretch run.

There’s a new LeBron James mix-tape out, and this one is inspired by The Wire.

If only the real NBA played out with the intensity and hype this video presents, we’d be in for a real treat the next several months.

It’s interesting to think about the season thus far. A few have entered “no doubt about it star status” this season such as Stephen Curry and James Harden (even though he can’t play defense worth a lick), and the Atlanta Hawks are extending the “team game” concept.

A lot of new changes have occurred.

Meanwhile, back in Cleveland, LeBron and the Cavs have sort of flown under the radar. Injuries and a few struggles have contributed to the idea.

“The King is still The King,” there’s no doubt about it. His all-around game trumps anybody in today’s league.

The bigger reason though that there’s very few challenging his throne is attitude. No other superstar has an edge to them like we’ve seen in the past. We don’t see that competitive nature from these guys like we used to.

Guys like Michael Jordan and Larry Bird would want to rip your heart out right there on the court and stare you down afterwards. They were cutthroat.

Today’s superstars giggle and play paddy-cake during games:

Call me when at least one of today’s elite gets in the face of another superstar. Then, and only then, will I buy into the hype of a video like this.

Nobody will take any throne until real competitive edges come back to life in the association.
