Terrence Ross has been the usual young player with potential who has had some highs and lows, and the Toronto Raptors might not be ready to move on from yet.

Terrance Ross has had his name involved in trade rumors for much of this season, but it looks like all of that talk may lead to nothing.

More from NBA

Ross was the 8th pick in the 2012 draft for Toronto, and while the young wing has had some promising moments, it seems like he has three bad moments for every good one.

Just a year ago, Ross tied the franchise record with 51 points in a single game, and now he has found himself on the bench.

This year didn’t start off bad, though. Ross averaged 12.4 points on 44.4 percent shooting from October to December, but he had a quick decline once January hit. In the past two months, Ross has only averaged 7.4 points on 38 percent shooting.

However, even with all that said, Michael Grange of Sportsnet reported today that Toronto’s General Manager – Masai Ujiri – does not expect to move Ross before the trade deadline tomorrow.

There has been a lot of speculation around the Raptors trying to package Ross in a deal that would land them a star or someone to improve their front court, but it looks like the second-seed Raptors are content with what they have now.

Not only is Ujiri content with keeping Ross on the roster, but he actually had high praise him and thinks he is a special player. According to Grange, Ujiri had this to say about Ross: “How many guys on our team can raise up and make a shot with someone in their face like Terrence? There aren’t many in the league.”

Even with the kind words from the man making the decisions, I wouldn’t be shocked if Ross ended up being dealt before the deadline. This league is all about business, and the Raptors won’t say no to a deal that makes sense for their team moving forward.
