Kevin Garnett to the Clippers

Oh geez, not more trade rumors in Brooklyn…

Brooklyn is going to complete one of the most disappointing stints in NBA history after acquiring all that talent back in 2013. It didn’t work. So it’s time to start over.

If the Clippers are looking for another back-up to Blake Griffin and Andre Jordan, why should Doc Rivers look any further than his former veteran big man in Kevin Garnett?

It makes sense for Brooklyn to get rid of some cap space so they can rebuild next year. And it makes sense for the Clippers to get some extra help down-low. Especially if they end up facing a Houston Rockets team that has this guy named Dwight Howard. More-so with Blake Griffin out with an injury.

So why won’t this trade happen? It sounds too good to be true!

Well, even though in theory Garnett is that veteran force that could push the Clips past that playoff barrier they have struggled with, he is kind of a liability. His minutes would be limited. At this point in his career he is more fragile than Derrick Rose’s knees. On top of that, he hasn’t really been producing this year as much as the Brooklyn Nets have wanted him to. And that is shown in the Nets record more than anything

So most likely no dice for a KG and Doc Rivers reunion. But then again, as Garnett would say: ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!
