Carson city councilman Albert Robles wears split Raiders/Chargers jersey on Friday in support of possible “joint stadium”

It would appear that the Raiders and Chargers proposed split stadium proposal has the support of some local politicians in Los Angeles.

Carson councilman Albert Robles wore a split Raiders/Chargers jersey with one half the famous silver and black of the Raiders, the other classic powder blues the Chargers currently use as an alternate home uniform.

One side featured the “1” in Philip Rivers’ No. 17 jersey, the other half the “0” of Raiders running back Darren McFadden’s No. 20, while the back of the customized jersey featured the ‘7’ in 17 and 2 in 20.

This photo ought to make it more clear.

It was formally announced on Thursday that the Raiders and Chargers were joining forces on a “joint stadium” arrangement in Carson, the city which Robles stands on the City Council.

Of course there remain many obstacles to make the arrangement work, and it is wholly possible that both organizations are using the proposal as leverage to gain steam in building in new stadiums in their current locales of Oakland and San Diego, respectively.

Neither city, though, has been particularly avid in their support of their current teams, and the current political landscape in each city seems to be rather apathetic to meeting the demands of their respective NFL franchises.
