Green Bay Packers 7-Round Mock Draft
By Ryan Lehrman
Round 3 Pick 94: Nick O’Leary TE (Florida St.)
The next position on the Packer’s draft wish list is tight end. While second-year TE Richard Rodgers — who shared time with vet Andrew Quarless and caught only 20 passes for two touchdowns — undoubtedly improved over the course of the season, he received flack for his inconsistent run blocking.
Former Minnesota tight end Maxx Williams will likely get swooped in the first round, and Miami Florida TE Clive Walford has shown shabby protection skills, but Nick O’Leary fits the bill with his old-school philosophy. He understands how to adjust routes, which is crucial to Rodgers’ elusiveness in the pocket. He also spots the holes in zone coverage and, yes, the man can lay a block.
