Round 6 Pick 184: Shaquille Mason, Center (Georgia Tech)

In January, the Lions parted with their veteran center Dominic Raiola, who had sparked more social media attention with his antics and cheap shots than his blocking. A sturdy interior lineman is a must now, especially considering Stafford’s sack totals.

Georgia Tech’s Shaquille Mason is aggressive off the snap and hauls blockers with wise hand placement mixed with a girthy base. Although he’ll have to work on his cut block, the man keeps his foot churning and shoulders set. His fighting mentality could offer the QB a few more precious seconds in the pocket.
