NBA Playoffs 2015: Who will sneak in, who will just miss out?
By Evan Massey
Out – New Orleans Pelicans
Despite having one of the most dangerous all-around up-and-coming superstars in the NBA, the New Orleans Pelicans will not end up making the playoffs. They are simply too inconsistent and are going up against Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder for the final position in the Western Conference.
Anthony Davis has put up an impressive season and has powered his team to a 36-30 record. He has averaged 24.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game this season. New Orleans is just a game behind the Thunder for the eighth seed, but they don’t have the type of firepower that the Thunder do.
Tyreke Evans has been a very consistent running mate for Davis, but not having Jrue Holiday or a consistent Eric Gordon has been hurting the Pelicans.
New Orleans can still hope for the Thunder to fall apart, but that isn’t likely to happen. Losses like the one the Pelicans had last night against the Denver Nuggets are one of the main reasons that they will not end up making the postseason.
