Taylor Swift can’t contain her excitement about Kendrick Lamar’s album

Kendrick Lamar’s new album, To Pimp a Butterfly, was supposed to be released on March 23. Instead it’s been released a week early, and fans of Lamar cannot contain themselves in their excitement.

One of the most excited listeners was, of course, noted hip-hop enthusiast Taylor Swift.

It makes perfect sense. Who, after all, has more in common than Lamar, the critically acclaimed L.A. rapper, and Swift, the young star who spent years making pop songs and pretending they were country songs?

Can’t you just see Taylor Swift rolling down the streets of L.A., blasting some rap? Seems totally in character.

Maybe Swift is trying to bolster her street cred, in the hopes that next time she wins an award, Kanye will just let her keep it without saying anything.

Of course, T-Swift is far from the only one who’s psyched for the sudden release of To Pimp a Butterfly, even though it sounds more like a weird self-help book than an album. (One can assume it’s loosely based on To Kill a Mockingbird, or something). Twitter basically exploded when everyone found out the album was available.

There’s always a chance that Swift and Lamar will team up and make the worst song of all time. After all, Lamar is no stranger to collaborations that are terrible ideas. (None of us are better off from hearing an Imagine Dragons song, much less having to collaborate with one). If Swift and Lamar team up, it could be N’Sync and Aerosmith levels of bad. So let’s keep our hopes up for that.

Here’s Lamar’s new single, “The Blacker the Berry.” His album is available on iTunes and Spotify now.
