Sixth Man – Kevin Garnett, Minnesota Timberwolves
Garnett’s return to Minnesota in late February produced one of the more memorable moments of the 2014-2015 NBA season, and on top of that, he can still play a little bit.
The “Big Ticket” is averaging 11.8 rebounds per 36 minutes on the season and his defense is still at an elite level thanks to his length and big-time acumen on the floor.
Since arriving in Minnesota, the Wolves are 14.8 points per 100 possessions better when he’s on the floor defensively, and even with reduced athleticism, he puts the fear of God into the opposition on that end.
Kevin Garnett is playing slightly more than 20 minutes per game, representing a career-low after twenty seasons in the league. This may be the last hurrah for Garnett, who is rumored to be setting up a front-office career in the Twin Cities, but if this is it, it’s been a pleasure to watch.
