Ryan Mathews

Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on you. Fool me three times, your name is Ryan Mathews.

Because of a ridiculous string of injuries, Mathews has missed 18 of a possible 60 games. While the number is significant, it doesn’t blow you away. For anybody that’s played fantasy football though, knows how frustrating this guy has been in getting some sort of momentum going in his career.

Every time he seemed poised to break out he would once again come up with another nagging scenario. Those 18 games missed are more on the 30 side as far as games effected.

Call me a pessimist, but I’ve just never seen a magical potion that allows bodies to all of a sudden become indestructible in the game of football.

Some guys have that fantastic durability edge. Ryan Mathews does not.

There isn’t a chance in the world I would sniff around this guy. Not to mention give him a three-year, $11 million contract with $5 million guaranteed.
