Maurice Richard Trophy

player. 19.
This is a no brainer because Alex Ovechkin is leading the league in goals by seven with 47 and is in line for his sixth 50-goal season of his career that will finish with him going down in history as one of the best finishers of all-time. He is projected to score 53 goals this season with Steven Stamkos finishing a distant second.

Hopefully, hockey fans aren’t taking Ovechkin and the aforementioned Crosby for granted because what they’re doing on the ice is legendary stuff that will put them in the Hockey Hall of Fame when they retire and they’ll rank among the game’s greats.

Playing next to Nicklas Backstrom who leads the NHL in assists certainly helps Ovechkin put up lofty goal totals, but Backstrom would say the same about playing next to Ovechkin. This will be the fifth Maurice Trophy for Ovechkin and his third year in a row leading the NHL in goals.
. Right Wing. Washington Capitals. Alex Ovechkin. 1
