NFL: Top positional need for all 32 teams
By Robby Sabo
Jacksonville Jaguars
- 2014 Finish: 3-13, 3rd in AFC South
- Top Positional Need: Interior Offensive Lineman
In David Caldwell’s world the toughest task has been taking care of – the drafting of Blake Bortles to represent the face of the organization.
Next up is creating a tough identity.
Jaguars Interior Offensive Lineman:
- Zane Beadles (LG)
- Luke Bowanko (C)
- Brandon Linder (RG)
The glaring needs on defense reside in the defensive backfield. Linebacker also needs work with Paul Posluszny already at 30-years old and missing a concerning nine games last year.
On offense, the signing of Julius Thomas doesn’t just give Bortles a target to grow with over the next half decade, it signals to the entire league that free agents will in fact come to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
That’s the hope at least.
As far as the biggest need is concerned, it’s a flip of a coin between running back and the interior of the offensive line. Toby Gerhart and Denard Robinson doesn’t get the job done in the backfield. Neither does the current group of interior lineman they possess.
Like the Titans, the Jags represent another depth chart with many holes which the creates the need to build upfront first.
Outside linebacker Dante Fowler, Jr. would also be a superb pick at No. 3. If they go that direction then Caldwell better turn his intention to the offensive line next.
