San Diego Chargers

  • 2014 Finish: 9-7, 3rd in AFC West
  • Top Positional Need: Offensive Line

San Diego Chargers head coach Mike McCoy is no dummy. He realizes once the production of a team’s offensive line starts to dip, so does the rest of the offense.

This is what Philip Rivers and the offense experienced in 2014.

Chargers Offensive Line:

  • King Dunlap (LT)
  • Kenny Wiggins (LG)
  • Chris Watt (C)
  • Orlando Franklin (RG)
  • D.J. Fluker (RT)

Even though the 2014 group only gave up 37 sacks, which puts them right in the middle of the field, it was Rivers ability to recognize the pressure and let it fly rapidly that created such a misleading number. The Chargers only ran the ball for 1,367 yards which put them 30th in the league.

D.J. Fluker will remain in the plans as the 11th overall selection from 2013. Aside from him, and right guard Orlando Franklin who was picked up from division the division rival Broncos, the entire line could use some work.

Linebacker and running back could also be called out, but the big boys up front need a makeover first and foremost.
