Philadelphia Eagles

  • 2014 Finish: 10-6, 2nd in NFC East
  • Top Positional Need: Edge Rusher

This is officially Chip Kelly’s world and we’re just lucky to be playing witness to it.

Seemingly just hours after assuming complete personnel duties, Kelly went rogue and did his best anti-general manager portrayal – as many of us felt like Kelly was wheeling and dealing in a fantasy league instead of the NFL.

Eagles Edge Rushers:

  1. Connor Barwin
  2. Brandon Graham
  3. Marcus Smith II
  4. Bryan Braman
  5. Travis Long
  6. Brandon Hepburn

It’s interesting, although most of Philadelphia now hates Kelly, the roster looks pretty damn solid on paper. Looking for major holes isn’t the easiest task.

Help is definitely needed on the offensive line. Both Jason Peters and Evan Mathis are nearing the end of solid careers. The safety spot could also use some reinforcements with veteran Malcolm Jenkins representing the only sure pro.

With Kiko Alonso now in tow with Mychal Kendricks, finding a guy to dominate the edge could turn a good defense into an explosive one.

While Connor Barwin enjoyed a career year in 2014 (14.5 sacks), he’ll need to duplicate it to prove he’s for real (five and three sacks respectively the previous two seasons). Barwin is more of an all-around edge guy than pure rusher.

On the opposite side remains a lot of mystery with Brandon Graham and high pick Marcus Smith II.

Wide receiver will be the wild card for Philly on draft day.
